A football transfer that has captured the region’s attention was officially announced in Doboj. Richmond Boakye, a striker from Ghana and a former standout name at Crvena Zvezda, has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Football Club Sloga and will compete in the upcoming matches of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Richmond Boakye is the most high-profile addition to the Premier League of BiH this winter. Arriving in Doboj full of optimism, he is ready for the challenges ahead with Sloga.
“I want to focus on this club and its goals. I’m here for my team,” said Boakye.
Boakye signed the contract with Sloga for a duration of 18 months, and club president Miroslav Kršić welcomed him warmly.
The club’s management and coach are equally pleased with the transfer, expressing high expectations. They believe that if Boakye can replicate even a fraction of his performances from his Crvena Zvezda days, he will be a tremendous asset for Doboj.
“We hope that, as a team and a club, we can create a positive environment for him to give his best,” said coach Nedim Jusufbegović.
Sloga faces a challenging period ahead, fighting to remain in the Premier League. The signing of Boakye demonstrates the club’s serious intent to stay among the top teams.
As part of their preparation for the remainder of the season, Sloga players will travel to Antalya for training on January 23.
