Humanity among citizens still thrives, and a shining example is the Youth Association “Focus” from Kozarska Dubica and its volunteers, who distributed 17,000 hot meals last year.
These meals were delivered as part of the “Good Deeds” project to the homes of 40 socially disadvantaged residents.
According to Nedim Krivdić, the president of the association, the list of beneficiaries was compiled in collaboration with the Center for Social Work, without regard to national or religious affiliation.
“In addition to daily meals, we provided various donations for our beneficiaries and fellow citizens, distributing a total of 15 tons of food to 150 households,” Krivdić told Nezavisne novine.
Additionally, last year, they implemented the “Lunches” project in partnership with the association “Pomozi.ba” from Sarajevo, ensuring 15,000 lunches for 93 socially disadvantaged students in Kozarska Dubica.
New school bags and supplies were provided to 110 first graders, while five tons of clothing were distributed to both the youngest and oldest citizens.
Throughout the year, the association conducted three fundraising campaigns via a humanitarian hotline for the treatment of local residents.
“Our actions extended to Africa and Asia, where, thanks to our donors, we built four wells, donated clothing and footwear, and purchased 39 animals,” Krivdić added.
During the Eid holiday, they distributed 3,000 baklava, flowers, and gift packages. They also renovated a children’s playground and a youth center, while 500 children received joy through New Year’s gift packages.
Krivdić emphasized that the association established numerous collaborations with institutions and organizations and actively supported other associations throughout the year.
