The first sports gathering “3, 2, 1: Srpska” in Trebinje

The first sports gathering “3, 2, 1: Srpska” has begun in Trebinje, bringing together 150 athletes from Serbia and Republika Srpska, aged 10 to 15. The aim of this project is to promote interaction, connection, and friendship among children from Serbia and Srpska through sports activities.

“All together for a stronger Srpska” is the slogan of the project, which kicked off its three-day event in Trebinje.

Prominent athletes from Republika Srpska, including basketball player Saša Čađo, footballer Marija Aleksić, and judoka Mitar Mrdić, are featured guests at themed panels.

  • “I am delighted to be part of this event because we want to highlight the importance of school sports and guide young people toward building a better future. Besides physical preparation, sports develop resilience to life’s challenges and help in handling daily obligations,” said Čađo.

The goal of the project “3, 2, 1: Srpska” is to strengthen sports and youth cooperation between Serbia and Srpska.

  • “The main idea is for these young participants to understand the importance of unity and solidarity, and to realize that we are one people,” stated Serbia’s Minister without Portfolio Đorđe Miličević.
  • “Our plan is to organize one of the summer camps in Republika Srpska to bring together children from the diaspora and Serbia,” added Republika Srpska’s Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić.

The city of Trebinje has officially been named the European City of Sports for 2025, making it a fitting location for this inaugural event.

  • “This is one nation, and it’s important to connect our youth. We are glad Trebinje is hosting this event, and we plan to hold similar gatherings in other cities across Srpska,” said Trebinje’s Mayor Mirko Ćurić.

The “3, 2, 1: Srpska” program is competitive but free of performance pressure, focusing instead on fostering interaction, friendship, and connection among children from Republika Srpska and Serbia through sports activities.
