Terrorism is a threat that we must all combat, said Predrag Ćeranić, Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies at the University of Banja Luka, during his appearance on RTRS Morning Program.
- Although the attack in Germany has not been officially classified as terrorism, political motives indicate that it was an act of terrorism. Everyone overlooks the fact that terrorism has no nationality, and the entire world, including us here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, must fight against this evil – stated Ćeranić.
Ćeranić added that the attacker acted deliberately and planned to commit this crime because he was dissatisfied with Germany’s policy towards migrants from Saudi Arabia.
- Unlike the era of Angela Merkel, Germany now has zero tolerance for migrants. Authorities will surely reconsider their approach to migrants and review decisions regarding granting asylum to individuals who might even remotely be suspected of committing such acts, Ćeranić noted.
He emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina also faces security challenges, recalling the recent attack in Bosanska Krupa, where a minor fatally stabbed one police officer and injured another.
- We live in a time full of challenges and security threats. Prevention is always useful; schools must be protected. Security has been significantly strengthened in our country after the tragedy at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” elementary school in Belgrade , Ćeranić concluded.
