The Smart City Forum, organized by the company Supernova in collaboration with Bit Alliance, took place on December 17 at the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka.
This important event gathered numerous experts in digital transformation, representatives of local governments, educational institutions, IT companies, and international organizations, aiming to exchange ideas, experiences, and solutions for improving smart cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The first panel discussion, titled “Innovative Solutions for Smart Cities: Digital Transformation of Urban Areas and Support from Local Agencies, Ministries, and EU Partners. The Role of the Public and Private Sectors in the Overall Ecosystem,” emphasized the need for simple smart solutions that align with citizens’ lifestyles, utilizing best practices and successful models from the region.
Following the panel, Zoran Jakovljev, project manager at GIZ in Serbia, shared insights from the implementation of digital projects funded by EU partners.
Next, the “Smart Building” presentation by m:tel showcased the latest technological solutions and innovations in smart building development.
The second panel discussion, titled “Synergy for Digitalization, ICT, and Smart Cities: Science, Innovation, and Technologies. The Impact of DIHs in BiH,” focused on the importance of enhancing knowledge while simultaneously developing added value that fosters greater economic gains and profits, directly contributing to local development.
During the Smart City Forum, a Partnership Agreement was signed between the City Development Agency of Banja Luka (CIDEA) and Supernova BiH.
This event once again highlighted the importance of collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and experience among all societal stakeholders in creating sustainable and innovative solutions for smart cities, with the goal of improving quality of life and advancing local communities.
