The trial of the President of Republika Srpska and Acting Director of the Official Gazette continues tomorrow

The trial of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the Acting Director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, Miloš Lukić, accused of “non-compliance with decisions of Christian Schmidt,” will resume tomorrow, November 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Goran Bubić, the defense attorney for President Dodik, the session will include testimony from Professor of Constitutional Law Siniša Karan and legal advisor Slavko Mitrović, as well as the presentation of material evidence by the defense.

“These are our rebuttal pieces of evidence, presented following the prosecution’s case, and they have been approved earlier by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Bubić stated.

The trial has garnered significant public attention due to allegations involving non-compliance with decisions issued by the High Representative Christian Schmidt, which has sparked reactions from various political and legal circles.

It should be noted that previous sessions included requests from the defense to disqualify Judge Sene Uzunović on grounds of alleged bias, which the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ultimately rejected.

Furthermore, supporters of the accused have been gathering outside the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing their solidarity with President Dodik and Director Lukić.

Tomorrow’s session is expected to bring new developments and potentially influence the further course of this judicial process.
