The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump has been persecuted in the courts of his country, just as he has been in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that as President of Republika Srpska, this gives him additional strength to defend the interests and competencies of Srpska.
“What we have in common is a distorted authority that pursued him in America and me here. If Trump fights against such a flawed court, then I will fight as well,” Dodik said.
He claimed that it would not currently be in his interest to have the ongoing trial in the Court of BiH, which involves him and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, interrupted.
Commenting on the statement by Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, who said he would file a complaint against Dodik due to his statement about completing military service in Serbia, Dodik said he encourages him to do so, but added that “we will see how this trial proceeds.”
