President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, announced in an interview with RTRS that Srpska will participate in the BRICS Forum.

“In October, we will be there as a guest or observer, it doesn’t matter, but Republika Srpska will be there, and that is a significant advancement for us. This is the strongest global forum,” said Dodik.

He emphasized that Republika Srpska’s presence at the forum is thanks to Russia and its President Vladimir Putin, with whom he met in Saint Petersburg.

Dodik mentioned that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also attended the meetings with President Putin, which is not common for such gatherings.

“I did not go to Russia as Milorad Dodik, but as the President of Republika Srpska. An indication of the importance of my visit there is the fact that I gave 11 interviews in one day. To those who downplay its significance, my message is that they should go and meet. Russia is undoubtedly a global power, and the opportunity to meet with Putin in such numbers is a huge opportunity,” added Dodik.

Dodik also highlighted the significance of Republika Srpska’s athletes participating in the BRICS Games in Kazan for the first time since the entity’s existence.

“BRICS is the emerging world, the one that will be the most powerful. Russia is the fourth-largest economy in the world. The G7 format no longer exists,” emphasized Dodik.

He stated that the world is fortunate to have leaders like Putin, who love their people and country.

Dodik highlighted that Putin has good insights regarding Republika Srpska.

“I truly believe that Srpska and Serbia depend on the strength and stance of the Russian Federation,” concluded Dodik.
