The opening of the Office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Banja Luka is a significant event and marks a historic day, said the Russian Ambassador to BiH, Igor Kalabukhov, during the ceremony.

“History is on our side. Today is a special historical day; we have the opportunity to witness a significant event for which we have long prepared and eagerly awaited. I remember the times before I became an ambassador here when I served in other capacities as an advisor to the ambassador, dealing with the opening of the Russian diplomatic representation in Banja Luka. I am delighted by this event, and I believe everyone present shares this joy,” Kalabukhov stated.

Kalabukhov extended special thanks to the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for his support and understanding in addressing all matters.

“Thank you for your initiative, strength, and creativity, which are very much needed in these times,” emphasized Kalabukhov.

Kalabukhov noted that Republika Srpska and Russia continue their strategic cooperation.

“We consider the new office a very important element of cooperation with BiH, especially with Republika Srpska, with which Russia develops and enhances a strategic partnership. This is evidenced by the recent meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, where agreements were reached that form the basis of our work. We hope for a long tenure of our representation. The doors of this office are open to all citizens of Republika Srpska,” Kalabukhov conveyed.

Announcing the video link inclusion of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Kalabukhov expressed hope that we will have the opportunity to see him in person here in Banja Luka, particularly in the context of the construction and opening of the Russian-Serb temple.
