Dodik signs cooperation Plan with Beglov for the Government of St. Petersburg and Srpska

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik met with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.

On this occasion, Dodik and Beglov signed the Negotiation Protocol and the Plan of Events for implementing the list of priority areas of cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg and Republika Srpska for 2024-2026.

Beglov stated that it is a great honor to have the delegation of Srpska, led by Dodik, visiting St. Petersburg.

  • The citizens of St. Petersburg follow your fight for constant and family values, and we are thrilled by it. Your historical memory is excellent. I personally respect you a lot, and we have met many times. I learn a lot from you, and we are always ready to stand by Republika Srpska, solving problems together. We are ready to host your school students during the summer holidays, and we will cover the costs. We need to preserve our friendship, added Beglov.

Dodik emphasized that he is proud of the friendship between Srpska and St. Petersburg.

  • This is a difficult moment, but also a moment in which friendships are proven. We have stayed with you and your people and state. This is not a decision of this generation but a decision we have made throughout history. We have started many things and have already done a lot. We cooperate in the field of medicine and will develop that cooperation economically, guided by the fact that there are many common interests in that segment, noted Dodik.

On this occasion, Dodik invited the governor to be an honorary guest in Republika Srpska.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Dodik stressed that Ukraine is just an excuse for the West to test the capabilities of the Russian Federation.

  • I am always pleased to hear good news about Russia’s success. Today I will be with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and it is an opportunity to confirm excellent cooperation, emphasized Dodik.

He added that Russia and the Serb people are opposed, not to NATO and the West, but to evil.

  • These are opposing civilizations because we only want to preserve our family values, faith, and history, which are something that is being attempted to be undermined today. This is indeed not easy today, noted Dodik.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, and the Head of the Srpska Representation in Moscow, Duško Perović.

Earlier, the President of Srpska was awarded the “Yeltsin Presidential Library” medal, to which he presented the book “The Bridge on the Drina” in Russian.
