The Executive Committee of the Football Association of Republika Srpska, besides scheduling the Assembly for June 28, also discussed proposals to shorten the First and Second Leagues in this association.

Namely, it is planned that starting from the 2025/26 season, the First League and the two groups of the Second League (East and West) will be reduced to 14 teams each.

Currently, there are 18 teams in the top league competition, and 16 teams in each of the two groups of the second league caravan (East and West).

This proposal will be presented to the delegates at the assembly to increase the quality of the competition in the future.

The current president, Vico Zeljković, has already secured support for a second four-year term at the helm of the Football Association of Republika Srpska.

  • I thank everyone who has so far shown me trust and expressed a desire for me to continue working and leading the Association from the presidential position. This is a great obligation for me, but also a motivation to be even better, more organized, and efficient in the future, and to continue the series of projects we have started, as well as to initiate new ones. We are facing a time of great challenges and temptations – emphasized President Vico Zeljković.
