Dodik: Appearances by Lagumdžija and Schmidt at the Security Council divided BiH and acknowledged reality

President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the fact that Zlatko Lagumdžija and Christian Schmidt addressed the UN Security Council shows that the West and the United States have divided BiH and recognized the reality.

“They allowed Lagumdžija to speak as an ambassador without agreed-upon BiH positions,” Dodik told reporters during a tour of the preparatory works for the “Expo 2027” complex together with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

He mentioned that there will be calls for Lagumdžija’s replacement, but that this depends on the tripartite Presidency of BiH.

“Up to now, there has been no request to withdraw a nominated ambassador. When someone is proposed as an ambassador, it is not disputed, but this practice will have to change,” said Dodik.

He stated that if American sanctions are accepted as the main criterion for whether someone should be in power, then it is best to surrender everything to American interests.

Vučić said that Dodik was chosen by the people and that Serbia respects the will of the people in Republika Srpska.

He noted that the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, was not granted a US visa, while Lagumdžija and Schmidt were allowed to speak at the Security Council.

“And then they talk about rights,” said Vučić.

He emphasized that he could hear from representatives of some governments in the region that they have fulfilled everything that was told to them from Brussels, and questioned what the purpose of having governments is if they just receive an email or fax from Brussels?

Vučić stated that Serbia is a free country and that it cannot be governed by fax or email.

The tour was also attended by the Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, the coach of the Serbian national football team Dragan Stojković, and the president of the Football Association Dragan Džajić.
