Republika Srpska Parliament Adopts New Electoral Law

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska has adopted the Electoral Law of Republika Srpska during a special session.

The law was supported by 51 members, opposed by 11, with four abstentions.

During the session, which extended two hours past midnight, several other laws were also approved including the Law on Immunity of Republika Srpska, the Law on Referendum and Civil Initiatives, and the Law on Amendments to the Labor Law, all processed expeditiously with an accepted amendment from the Government of Republika Srpska.

Additionally, the Assembly ratified the report of the Independent International Commission for the Investigation of the Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica region from 1992 to 1995 and related conclusions.

The decision on the composition of the Republika Srpska National Assembly delegation to the Parliamentary Forum of Serbia and Republika Srpska was also adopted.
