“There was no basis for separating the cases against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, Miloš Lukić, and the only solution was to merge the proceedings. Unfortunately, that was the only correct decision made by the Court,” said Goran Bubić, the lawyer for the President of Republika Srpska, in the Morning Program.

“Yesterday’s hearing, to which four witnesses were called, was merely a simulation of a trial. The witnesses were unnecessary because the defense did not dispute the evidence presented through the hearing of one witness. It concerns evidence published in the Official Gazette, so there was practically no need to submit it separately,” Bubić stated.

He reminded that yesterday an SIPA inspector was heard as a witness, who himself confirmed that there was an unusual acceleration of the procedure.

“The court process against Dodik and Lukić is legally tainted, and yesterday’s session at the Court of BiH showed the Prosecution’s unpreparedness and haste to conclude a criminal process that lacks legal foundation,” Bubić conveyed.

He believes the entire process demonstrates that the Prosecution has nothing in the indictment and merely wants to create a farce.

A reminder that yesterday a hearing was held at the Court of BiH in the case against Dodik and Lukić for non-compliance with decisions made by Christian Schmidt. After being separated in February, the case was merged again.
