Professor of International Relations Srđa Trifković deemed the visits of the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, to Belarus and Russia as significant, stating that, given the circumstances, it is time for these countries to adopt a more active stance in this region because Srpska holds a significant geopolitical, as well as civilizational role.

“The impression is that official Moscow was absent, preoccupied with the situation in Ukraine, upon which not only the future of Russia depends but also the multipolarization of the world,” said Trifković.

He pointed out that in BiH, there is an attempt by the so-called high representative to redistribute political cards through quasi-legal means with the intention of excluding Dodik from political life and taking property from the Republika Srpska.

“The Republika Srpska is the most prominent western point of Slavic Orthodoxy. Srpska has a great geopolitical significance, not only concerning the Serb people but also in a broader civilizational context, including Russia and our brotherly Belarus,” Trifković mentioned.

He expressed hope that Russia would take proactive action in the upcoming period regarding the illegal appointment of the self-proclaimed high representative, as well as through financial support to the Republika Srpska.

“With relatively small investments in soft power and investment projects, it could achieve disproportionately large effects in our regions,” highlighted Trifković.

Commenting on the condemning comments from individuals regarding the visits of the President of Srpska to Belarus and Russia, Trifković says they are just part of a propaganda-political machine that today has a much more predictable political approach.

“One should not pay attention to that, just as official Serbia and the Serbs west of the Drina should not pay attention to the resolutions of the European Parliament, which are not worth the paper they are written on,” assessed Trifković for Srna.

The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is visiting Kazan today, having arrived there after a two-day visit to Belarus.

Dodik concluded his visit to Belarus yesterday, where he met with its state leadership.

He earlier stated that after meeting with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, he would have meetings with the President of Tatarstan, as well as with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
