Budimir: The Story of Malign Russian Influence Part of Hybrid Warfare

Minister for Scientific Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, emphasized that the narrative of malign Russian influence on the entire society in Republika Srpska, including the sphere of higher education, is part of the hybrid warfare and propaganda that the West constantly conducts against Republika Srpska.

Budimir noted that universities in Republika Srpska have cooperation with several prestigious Russian and Chinese universities, which enhances the reputation of domestic faculties.

“Russian higher education institutions are the most prestigious institutions in the world, and Chinese ones are already beyond the reach of Western countries. It is a great thing when you cooperate with the Moscow State University, and I am also proud that Radoslav Gajanin, the rector of the University of Banja Luka, is a visiting professor in China,” Budimir emphasized.

Responding to the question of whether higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in Republika Srpska, are under foreign influence, Budimir said that the influence of Western countries is also present.

“We have implemented the Bologna process, which is a Western process, and we have devastated half of our higher education, and now we are trying to remedy that damage,” Budimir said.
