Under the slogan “Symbol of Freedom,” Republika Srpska celebrates its Day.

The theme “Symbol of Freedom” serves as this year’s slogan for the celebration of the Republic of Srpska’s Day. It encapsulates the spirit of our free homeland, crafted with love by the Serb people and defended with bravery. It emphasizes the critical need to safeguard this freedom today and in the future.

The freedom of the Republic of Srpska is guaranteed by the Dayton Peace Agreement. However, violations of this agreement and continuous pressures from international factors, such as attempts to seize property and the ongoing legal proceedings against President Milorad Dodik and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, highlight the importance of rallying around the Republic of Srpska for its protection.

The Republic of Srpska, or the “Symbol of Freedom,” embodies our land, rivers, nature, language, history, and tradition, as well as our liberation struggle and the sacrifices made. On the Republic of Srpska Day, observed on January 9th, this essential message is conveyed.

Freedom holds deep-rooted significance in the history, culture, and collective identity of the Serb people. It recalls historical struggles and serves as inspiration for overcoming present challenges.

President Milorad Dodik announced that the celebration of Srpska’s birthday would be magnificent.

“The Day of the Republic of Srpska is sacred! It will be celebrated in a magnificent manner, and an important statesman will receive an honor,” Dodik stated. He urged all citizens of the Republic of Srpska to gather around and celebrate its freedom.

To mark Republic’s Day, a ceremonial academy will be held on January 8th, while the central event will take place on January 9th. The main celebration will commence with a grand parade at Trg Krajine in Banja Luka at 5:00 PM.

Spectacular light effects orchestrated with approximately 200 drones are planned for this celebration.
Following the parade, a concert will be held, featuring performances by Danica Crnogorčević with the premiere of the songs “Za život Srpske” and “Pukni zoro,” alongside Baja Mali Knindža, performing a song dedicated to the Republic of Srpska, along with various other artists.

Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska and Alternativna Television will broadcast live coverage of the grand celebration of Srpska’s birthday, expecting a significant turnout of citizens.
