“President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik met today in Banja Luka with the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH, Ingrid Macdonald, discussing the current political and economic situations in Republika Srpska and BiH, the European integration process, and other current topics.
The President reiterated a clear stance that Republika Srpska rejects any actions by Christian Schmidt as the High Representative since the UN Security Council has not confirmed him, as envisaged by the Dayton Peace Agreement. He emphasized that full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional positions of entities is a prerequisite for a better understanding and efficient functioning of institutions at all levels of authority, as stated by the President of Republika Srpska’s Cabinet.
Dodik briefed Coordinator Macdonald that the budget for the President of Republika Srpska for the next year includes allocations to support the fight against violence against women and projects related to digital transformation in education. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the significance of digitalization across all spheres of society and called for joint efforts to lay a stable foundation for the transformation of the education system.
The participants acknowledged the longstanding cooperation between Republika Srpska and the UN as very positive and expressed confidence that the continuation of various projects in the fields of education, local development, and ecology will persist through their implementation.”
