President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, along with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, held a working meeting today at the Republic Palace with representatives of the Chinese company Shandong.
The meeting’s main focus was the realization of an infrastructure project crucial for Republika Srpska – the construction of a fast road spanning approximately 160 kilometers from Bijeljina to Sokolac, enabling enhanced connectivity within Republika Srpska and with Serbia.
Discussions at the meeting also addressed resolving current issues related to the construction of the Banja Luka – Prijedor highway.
President Dodik emphasized that Republika Srpska has had very successful cooperation with Shandong and expressed determination to further improve and expand this collaboration, to the satisfaction of both parties.
The meeting was attended by ministers from the Government of Republika Srpska, mayors, and heads of local communities located along the areas earmarked for these projects.
Nedeljko Čubrilović, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska, mentioned that Shandong has accepted the responsibility to conduct an analysis regarding the costs of individual sections of the Bijeljina-Sokolac fast road construction.
“A Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation for this project has been signed. The Chinese company has committed to analyzing the costs of individual sections, how to approach property relations, and local communities will express their interests,” said Čubrilović in Banja Luka.
