The handball players of Leotar played a fantastic derby against Banja Luka’s Borac in the 15th round of the Bosnia and Herzegovina championship, deservedly winning 32:24 and signaling higher quality performances in the continuation of the league.
From the start, Dragiša Koraćević’s team took the lead, dictated the pace, and played very well in defense. They were efficient in attack, and the Banja Luka team could not pose a serious threat at any point during the duel.
The Trebinje team maintained a significant and safe lead throughout almost the entire match. They played strongly for all 60 minutes and showed that they would be a much more dangerous opponent in the second part of the championship.
Goalkeepers Miloš Knežević and Veselin Savović delivered outstanding performances, while Vladimir Stanković and Marko Parežanin were the top scorers with seven goals each. On the other side, Vladan Đurđević and Andrej Klimavets each scored five goals.
One of the top scorers of the match, Marko Parežanin, emphasized that the derby met expectations.
“We really played a quality derby. Our great desire to win was decisive. We entered the match very motivated and combative, which was evident, as we quickly gained an advantage. We played very well throughout the game. We were always in the lead and deservedly won. This victory will surely give us confidence for the continuation of the league, and I want to thank our fans who gave us tremendous support during the match and drew the best out of us,” highlighted Parežanin for “Glas Srpske”.
Coach Dragiša Koraćević had many reasons to be satisfied after the duel. His team looked excellent, playing strongly in defense and being efficient in attack.
New players Željko Šukić and Nikola Jovanović also demonstrated that they would be great additions to the team.
“This match showed all the good work we did during the preparatory period. The effort we made was evident. The players played an excellent match and deserve all the congratulations for the win. The new players have integrated well and quickly, making a significant contribution to the victory. We continue to work with the desire to deliver such performances in the continuation,” emphasized coach Koraćević.
In this round, Sloga also defeated Konjuh (Mičević 11, Stanković eight goals), even though they played without Bojan Tulendić and Milutin Bogdanović. Hercegovina lost during their visit to Čapljina, which were their first points in the championship.
