Borac Banja Luka suffered a 2–0 defeat against Swedish champions Mjällby in Helsingborg in the third round of the UEFA Conference League.
The Swedish side took a 1–0 lead in the 54th minute when Bergström scored following a costly mistake by Siniša Saničanin. Engard sealed the 2–0 victory in the 88th minute.
“We created a large number of chances and controlled the match, but the goal that came from our mistake disrupted our momentum. We tried to find an equalizer, but we were unsuccessful,” Borac head coach Vinko Marinović said.
After three rounds, Borac have three points and will play their next match against Atalanta in Banja Luka on November 26.
“We controlled the match and had opportunities in both halves. It’s a shame, a real shame. But we have to move on. We still have three matches remaining, two of them in Banja Luka,” Borac first-team player Sebastián Herrera emphasized.
