Đokić calls for stronger economic cooperation between Republika Srpska and Russia

Republika Srpska Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić has emphasized the importance of further strengthening the traditionally friendly political relations between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation through direct economic cooperation, knowledge and technology exchange, and partnerships that could contribute to the development of the domestic economy.

During a meeting in Banja Luka with a delegation from the Russian city of Nizhnyaya Tura, Đokić recalled that he had established contacts with representatives of the Nizhnyaya Tura municipal district during his visit to Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region in July, according to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

Đokić explained that the purpose of such initiatives is to connect businesses and create opportunities for concrete commercial agreements that would benefit both sides.

Russian company Tizol to present business opportunities

Following the meeting at the ministry, the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska will host a presentation by the Russian company Tizol.

The event will provide business representatives from Republika Srpska with an opportunity to learn about the company’s product portfolio, technological solutions and potential areas of business cooperation.

Nizhnyaya Tura and Brod to sign memorandum of understanding

During the Russian delegation’s two-day visit to Republika Srpska, a memorandum of understanding will also be signed between the city of Nizhnyaya Tura and the municipality of Brod.

The initiative to establish cooperation between the two local communities emerged during Đokić’s visit to the Sverdlovsk Region earlier this year.

According to the ministry, the upcoming signing represents a concrete result of previous discussions and activities aimed at strengthening ties between Republika Srpska and Russian regions.

The delegation from Nizhnyaya Tura includes Andrey Postovalov, head of the Nizhnyaya Tura municipal district, representatives of Tizol and members of the autonomous nonprofit organization Dialogue of Cultures.

The meeting was also attended by Republika Srpska Minister of Family, Youth and Sports Irena Ignjatović and representatives of the Russian Embassy in BiH, the ministry added.
