A literary evening titled Half a Century with Words – 50 Years of Journalism and Literary Work by Mihajlo Orlović was held at the National Library in Mrkonjić Grad, celebrating the distinguished writer’s five-decade career.
Throughout his literary career, Orlović has published 33 books of prose and poetry.
The event placed particular emphasis on five new books published by the author this year: Life in Pictures (Život u slikama), Journey in the Rain (Putovanje po kiši), Without an Address (Bez adrese), A Shirt Made of Inner Cloth (Košulja od unutrašnjeg platana) and Following the Legends (Tragom legendi).
“Following the Legends” brings forgotten stories to life
Special attention was devoted to Orlović’s novel Following the Legends, a literary work that combines personal experiences, folk traditions and stories rooted in the region’s cultural heritage.
Through its narrative, the novel revives forgotten legends, stories and places that often remain outside public attention, offering readers an opportunity to rediscover the history and traditions of the local area.
The literary gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on Orlović’s extensive contribution to journalism and literature, as well as his continued dedication to preserving local stories and cultural memory through the written word.
