Second day of Children’s Theatre Festival in Banja Luka features three performances from Serbia and Spain

The second day of the 25th International Children’s Theatre Festival at the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, October 15, brings a diverse program featuring three acclaimed productions from Serbia and Spain.

The performances will take audiences on imaginative journeys through shadow theatre, poetic puppetry and emotional stories of friendship, loss and hope.

“Luna Luna Park” opens the day’s program

The program begins at 10 a.m. on the Main Stage with Luna Luna Park, performed by the Pinocchio Puppet Theatre from Belgrade.

Inspired by the book The Midnight Fair by Gideon Sterer and Mariachiara Di Giorgio, the production is directed and designed by Fabrizio Montecchi.

The performance tells a magical story about the creation of an unusual amusement park on a secluded island in the middle of a river, brought to life through the enchanting art of shadow theatre.

David Zuazola brings poetic puppetry to the Small Stage

At noon, the Small Stage will host The Walker, a production by David Zuazola and Teatro La Unión, representing Écija, Spain, and Warsaw, Poland.

Created, directed and performed by David Zuazola, the play uses poetic puppetry to tell the story of a man who loses his home and embarks on a journey across borders in search of a new beginning and hope for a better future.

“The Moon Fox” closes the evening program

The evening performance begins at 6 p.m. on the Main Stage with The Moon Fox, presented by the Puppet Theatre from Niš, Serbia.

Directed by Andrej Boka and based on a text by Mina Petrić, the production offers a gentle and poetic story about a young fox who loses her mother in a dark forest.

Guided by moonlight, the little fox discovers friendship and finds the strength to face the unknown.

Together, the three performances highlight the diversity of contemporary children’s theatre, combining imaginative storytelling with themes of resilience, compassion and the power of hope.
