A total of 357,548 tourists visited Republika Srpska during the first eight months of 2026, generating 871,678 overnight stays, according to data from the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics.
Compared with the same period of 2025, the number of tourist arrivals increased by 3.9 percent, while overnight stays rose by 6.1 percent.
Mountain destinations recorded the strongest growth, with the number of overnight stays increasing by 20.2 percent compared with the first eight months of last year. Spa destinations recorded growth of 5.2 percent, while other tourist destinations, including places known for their climatic, cultural, historical, river and lake attractions, saw an increase of 2.5 percent.
During the first six months of 2026, visitors stayed in Republika Srpska for an average of 2.5 days.
As in the previous year, in addition to domestic tourists, the largest number of visitors came from neighboring and regional countries, primarily Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. Among visitors from other European countries, tourists from Türkiye, Germany, Austria and Italy stood out.
When it comes to different types of tourist destinations, domestic tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in spa resorts, followed by other tourist destinations, mountain resorts and other places with accommodation facilities.
Foreign tourists, on the other hand, recorded the highest number of overnight stays in other tourist destinations, followed by spa resorts, mountain destinations and other places.
