All-Serbian Cup final: Partizan defend trophy

Partizan handball players successfully defended their trophy after defeating Borac m 37:26 (21:17) in the tenth All-Serbian Cup final.

The match was played in front of a capacity crowd at Borik Sports Hall in Banja Luka, with supporters of both clubs, particularly Borac’s popular Lešinari fan group, creating a lively atmosphere.

The opening half produced an entertaining contest, with Partizan building a lead of as many as five goals. Borac managed to reduce the deficit to two at 16:18 and had a seven-meter throw that could have brought them within one, but Partizan goalkeeper Luka Krivokapić denied Njеžić.

The Belgrade side responded by regaining control and went into halftime with a 21:17 advantage.

The second half was dominated by the Serbian champions, who steadily extended their lead and eventually sealed a convincing 37:26 victory.

The main trophy was presented to Partizan’s captain by Božo Đurković, president of the Serbian Handball Association, while the challenge trophy was presented by Saša Čađo, envoy of the President of Republika Srpska.

Danijela Ćapin, Republika Srpska Assistant Minister for Sport, presented the gold medals and the award for best goalkeeper to Partizan’s Luka Krivokapić, who recorded 14 saves, including two seven-meter throws.

Partizan’s Yoav Lumbroso was named MVP of the tournament, with the award presented by Ivan Milivojević, Secretary General of the Serbian Handball Association.

The Handball Federation of Republika Srpska, headed by Marinko Umičević, as well as RK Borac m and its president Darko Savić, were praised for the organization of the All-Serbian Cup.
