A seven-day photography and contemporary art campus, Superexposure, was held in Trebinje, bringing together young artists from across the region. The program concluded with an exhibition of participants’ works at the Trebinje Cultural Center.
Throughout the campus, participants developed their own ideas and projects through lectures, discussions, practical work and mentoring sessions before presenting them at the final exhibition. They were also awarded certificates as encouragement for their continued artistic development and professional growth.
“I am exhibiting an installation inspired by my arrival in Trebinje. It consists of seven blankets placed on the ground, representing the seven days of the week – one blanket for each day we spent here,” said Miljan Sekulić from Belgrade.
The workshops were led by renowned mentors and experts in contemporary art.
“What we can see are works of contemporary art created by young artists who used various media – installations, photography, video works, animation, objects and performance – to produce highly respectable works,” said Mladen Miljanović, a visual artist and mentor from Banja Luka.
This year, the campus brought together 15 young artists, primarily final-year students at art academies from across the former Yugoslavia. They were selected from more than 30 applicants.
“The participants come from across the region – Serbia, Croatia, BiH and Montenegro – from different cities and different academies. These are young people who bring their own distinctive energy, poetics and perspective on the reality around them,” said Miljan Vuković, director of the Trebinje Cultural Center.
The Superexposure campus has been organized by the Trebinje Cultural Center for the sixth consecutive year, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
