The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, said that the Republika Srpska and Serbia today commemorate the Day of Remembrance for the Serbs who were killed and expelled during Operation Storm, paying tribute to around 2,000 victims and more than 200,000 people who were forced to flee their homes during what she described as the largest ethnic cleansing in Europe since the Second World War.
“May the innocent victims be granted eternal remembrance, and may it remain our duty never to forget them,” Cvijanović wrote on the social media platform X.
The central commemoration of the Day of Remembrance for all Serbs who were killed and expelled during the 1995 Croatian-Muslim offensive against Serbs from the Republic of Serbian Krajina and the Republika Srpska will be held this evening in Mrkonjić Grad.
The event is organized by the committees for preserving the traditions of liberation wars of the governments of the Republika Srpska and Serbia.
