Banja Luka opens new amphitheatre near Faculty of Law

A new outdoor amphitheatre has been officially opened near the Faculty of Law in Banja Luka, providing the city with a modern public space designed for education, culture, and community events.

The opening ceremony was attended by Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković, who said the project has transformed a 15,000-square-metre area into a multifunctional venue for students and residents.

“We have created a new space where our students will have the opportunity to attend lectures and where science, art, and culture will flourish. This is not just an amphitheatre but an amphitheatre park featuring cycling and running trails, a children’s playground, and urban recreational facilities,” Stanivuković said.

He also announced that, within the next month, a memorial dedicated to students and professors of the University of Banja Luka who lost their lives in the creation of Republika Srpska will be installed at the site.

The opening programme featured a keynote address by Professor Miloš Kovačević from Belgrade, followed by a performance of “Pushkin. Cases” by the Russian Theatre Belgrade.

The new amphitheatre is intended to serve all generations, providing a venue for lectures, cultural events, concerts, public gatherings, and community activities.
