A free screening of the documentary Children of Bradina, directed by Stevan Salatić, will take place on 29 July at 20:00 at the Trebinje Cultural Centre Cinema.
The film tells the story of the suffering of the Serb population of Bradina, with a particular focus on children, during the attacks on the village in May and July 1992, when, according to the filmmakers, it was surrounded and destroyed by Croat and Bosniak forces.
The documentary follows survivors who were children at the time of the events and are now between 35 and 40 years old. Separated from their families during the conflict, they recount the trauma they endured, with many having lost their parents and close relatives.
According to the organisers, Bradina is now home to only two Serb residents. A memorial bearing the names of 88 victims stands as a reminder of the Serb community that once lived in the village. The organisers also note that 46 soldiers and civilians were killed while defending Bradina during the conflict.
Admission to the screening is free of charge.
