“Likota Fest” opens, highlighting Student Theatre’s contribution to Banja Luka’s cultural life

The annual “Likota Fest” opened at the Student Theatre in Banja Luka with a performance of “The Mermaid and Victoria” by the Reflex Theatre.

Officially opening the festival, Danijela Kajkut, Head of the City Department for Social Activities, praised the Student Theatre for its continuous contribution to the city’s cultural life and expressed satisfaction that the department supports the creative team led by director Aleksandar Pejaković.

“We are delighted by every success of the Student Theatre and by this festival, which is dedicated to Živomir Likota Ličanin, the visionary founder of the Student Theatre. I wish the entire team many more successful premieres, prestigious awards, and heartfelt applause,” Kajkut said.

The opening performance, a humorous play exploring the theme of loneliness, entertained a large audience with a series of comedic scenes and was rewarded with enthusiastic applause.

Festival Director Milica Petković, a student at the University of Banja Luka, thanked audiences for their continued support and announced a diverse programme that will take place in Banja Luka, Belgrade, Krk Island, and Rijeka, cities where Živomir Likota made a lasting contribution to theatre.
