Stevandić: Serbophobia, attacks on Serb returnees and property reflect what he calls Schmidt’s legacy

National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić reacted to reports of an alleged attempt to seize what he described as the last remaining property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Bugojno, saying that Serbophobia, attacks on Serb returnees, and the confiscation of Serbian Orthodox Church property in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are becoming normalized.

Commenting on the reports, Stevandić argued that the legacy of former High Representative Christian Schmidt has contributed to what he described as unequal treatment of Serbs.

“Schmidt’s legacy—that only Serbs are prosecuted and that anything directed against Serbs is permitted—is metastasizing without any reaction from the remainder of the Office of the High Representative or the embassies of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Excellencies, have you already left?” Stevandić wrote on X.
