The United States continues to support the highly qualified Italian candidate, Ambassador Antonio Zanardi Landi, as the next High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo told RTRS.
“The United States is not considering any other candidate for this position. Louis Crishock is currently serving as Acting High Representative after being appointed by the Peace Implementation Council following the failure of the European members to reach a consensus during their meeting on June 3 and 4,” the Embassy said.
The Embassy added that Crishock will step down from the acting position once the Peace Implementation Council appoints a new High Representative.
“The United States believes that Acting High Representative Louis Crishock has all the necessary authorities to preserve stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and to implement the Dayton Peace Agreement,” the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina said in its response to RTRS.
