Republika Srpska is working to present the truth about the suffering of the Serb people to the international public, with the aim of ensuring that this message reaches ordinary people from the United States to Europe, said Radan Ostojić, Minister of Labor and Veterans’ and Disabled Persons’ Protection of Republika Srpska.
“Political leaders know very well what the truth is, but they seek to conceal it in order to impose a narrative portraying the Serbs exclusively as perpetrators. However, reality, from our perspective, is quite different,” Ostojić told reporters at Mrakovica.
He stressed that historical facts show that, during the Second World War, the Serb people were taken to concentration camps, thrown into pits, killed with mallets, and subjected to dozens of different methods of execution.
Ostojić also recalled that, after 1945, Serbs were denied the right to speak publicly about those sufferings.
“That situation lasted until 1992. Thanks to Republika Srpska and the freedom we enjoy today, we are striving to present the truth about the suffering of the Serb people to citizens around the world, from Europe and the United States to other parts of the world,” Ostojić said.
He added that the Serbs are a people who have fought for freedom throughout history, followed Christian values, and endured immense suffering.
