The Declaration on the Protection of the Vital National Interests of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses the clear political position of Republika Srpska, political analyst Stevica Deđanski said in RTRS’s morning program.
“One of the key points is that we stand for the defense of Dayton, and we are the only ones who keep mentioning it. Others invoke Dayton, but act entirely contrary to it,” he added.
He stressed that Republika Srpska is showing readiness to talk with partners in Sarajevo, but that the same cannot be said for them.
He said that Republika Srpska has made it clear that it does not need foreign mediators who disrupt relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We do not want to talk to those who think Republika Srpska is a province. It is a state won through courage. Our position is honest and conciliatory. The global situation is changing, and we can see that some are beginning to understand that something in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not functioning, and that Schmidt was pushed out overnight,” Deđanski said.
