Days of Russian Spiritual Culture to be held in Banja Luka on June 11–12

The Days of Russian Spiritual Culture will be held in Banja Luka on June 11 and 12 as part of one of the flagship international projects of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The project is implemented with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Russian Orthodox Church and is aimed at promoting the spiritual and moral values of the Russian people and Russian national culture abroad.

The event will open on June 11 at the Banjski Dvor Cultural Centre in Banja Luka with a concert by the Patriarchal Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, conducted by Ilya Tolkachev.

On June 12, visitors will have the opportunity to attend the opening of the photo exhibition For the Peace of the Whole World and a screening of the documentary The Shepherd’s Mission, organized as part of the celebrations marking the 80th birthday of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

The exhibition features photographs from various stages of Patriarch Kirill’s ministry, including services in major cathedrals in Russia and abroad, meetings with believers, representatives of other faiths, state leaders, and visits to numerous countries.

According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to demonstrate how the work of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church serves as a bridge between tradition and modernity, between peoples and cultures, while highlighting the Church’s role as a guardian of historical memory and moral values in a time of global challenges and change.

The documentary The Shepherd’s Mission was produced to mark the 15th anniversary of Patriarch Kirill’s enthronement.

Also on June 12, Banja Luka will host a concert by Honoured Artist of Russia Nina Shatskaya and the Ensemble of Young Soloists of the Nikolai Osipov National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Russia.

The performance will be held as part of the Balkan Fest festival and will feature arrangements of Russian folk melodies, original compositions for Russian folk instruments, as well as well-known Russian folk songs and romances.

The Nikolai Osipov Ensemble was established several years ago and consists of Russian artists who are laureates of national and international competitions.

Since 2008, the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture project has been held in more than 50 countries around the world.
