Minić: Schmidt’s decisions should be annulled and everything returned to its previous state

Savo Minić stated in Banja Luka that the only fair solution is to annul all decisions imposed by Christian Schmidt and return all matters to their previous legal and political state.

“There have been many harmful consequences. The effects of Christian Schmidt’s arrival are still visible and, unfortunately, will remain so. I believe the only fair thing, and the only thing that can be demanded, is for all of his actions to be revoked and for everything to be returned to its previous state,” Minić said.

He added that under any other scenario, certain institutions at the joint level of Bosnia and Herzegovina would continue to possess what he described as “weapons” for politically motivated prosecutions.

“In every other variant, there are mechanisms allowing certain institutions at the common level of government to prosecute Serbs one by one for whatever they choose,” Minić stated.

According to him, departing High Representatives have repeatedly imposed laws at the last moment, leaving behind long-term legal consequences.

“As each High Representative leaves Republika Srpska, they impose certain laws almost on their way out of the airport, and now you have hundreds, even thousands, of our people facing prosecution because someone arbitrarily decided they were allegedly inciting national hatred. The consequence of that is judicial proceedings. The beginning of these cases often comes through dozens of NGOs from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Minić said.

He stressed that normal political life in Bosnia and Herzegovina will remain difficult until the international community and the United Nations Security Council fully understand the political situation in the country.

The statement follows the recent United Nations Security Council debate on Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which Vasily Nebenzya called for the urgent closure of the Office of the High Representative, describing it as a key source of instability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
