UN Security Council to discuss Bosnia and Herzegovina

The semi-annual debate of the United Nations Security Council on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for today, although it remains unclear whether Christian Schmidt will address the session and present his six-month report following his resignation.

The Government of Republika Srpska submitted its 35th report to the UN Security Council, emphasizing Republika Srpska’s consistent support for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina established by that agreement.

The report also highlighted what Republika Srpska described as a problem stemming from individuals both inside and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina who do not accept the Dayton compromise.

Republika Srpska called on the UN Security Council and its member states to advocate for the consistent implementation of the Dayton Agreement, including respect for the right to self-governance in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
