The Women’s Chamber Choir Banjalučanke is opening its new concert and competition season with a performance at the international choral competition “Nordic Voices” in Finland.
Conductor Mladen Matović stated that the choir will perform a representative repertoire featuring works by prominent domestic composers.
Matović emphasized that it is a great honor for the ensemble to be the only representative of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina at the competition, which will gather 22 choirs from Estonia, Finland, the United States, China, Sweden, Denmark, and Turkey.
In addition to competing in the official program, Banjalučanke were selected as one of four ensembles to perform at the gala concert “Nordic Night” on May 16 in the main hall of the Sibelius Hall in Lahti.
