Record number of bouts and high quality mark third round

Boxing in Republika Srpska has a bright future, as confirmed by the third round of the Republika Srpska Boxing League, where spectators witnessed as many as 45 bouts—a record for the current season.

The round featured not only a record number of matches and participants, but also high-quality boxing, culminating in a clash between the national teams of Republika Srpska and the Boxing Federation of Belgrade.

After the third round, the standings at the top remain tight, with “BL 22” leading with 46 points, followed by Despot with 43 and defending champion Slavija with 42 points.

The technical organizer of the event was Boxing Club Kozara, with strong support from the City Administration, while the competition was organized by the Boxing Federation of Republika Srpska.

“This was a historic round, with 45 matches—the highest number so far. Only a few clubs were unable to attend, so we are very satisfied. We received recognition for the best organization, and it was an honor to host the national teams of Republika Srpska and Belgrade. The cooperation between the boxing federations of Serbia and Republika Srpska is excellent, thanks to presidents Nenad Borovčanin and Zoran Rašljić. We will strive to raise each future tournament to an even higher level,” said Marko Vanovac from BK Kozara.

Following the league matches, fans enjoyed a bout between the youth teams of Republika Srpska and Belgrade, with the home team winning 8:4.

The jury named the junior featherweight (up to 57 kg) bout between Vuk Čajić and Danilo Aleksić as the most competitive match, with the Belgrade representative winning. Sergej Milošević of Republika Srpska was named best technician after defeating Filip Urošević in the lightweight division (up to 60 kg). Đorđe Andrijašević was declared best boxer after securing key points in a middleweight (up to 75 kg) victory over Aleksandar Jovanović.

“I am pleased to see boxing progressing. We have an increasing number of competitors each season, and now we’ve reached a record. Our progress is best reflected by having two fighters who won gold medals at the Serbian championships. I thank BK Kozara for excellent organization—they once again proved to be outstanding hosts,” said Republika Srpska head coach Vladan Kljajić.

Awards and recognitions were also presented: a Golden Plaque to Mane Marčeta, President of the Boxing Federation of Belgrade; a Golden Cup to Marko Vanovac for best event organization; the “Silver Gloves” recognition to Zoran Rašljić, President of the Boxing Federation of Republika Srpska; and a Golden Statue to Uroš Zečević, competition director, for the successful realization of the event.
