Success of Banja Luka professor: Korać solves one of the longest-standing problems

Associate Professor at the University of Banja Luka, Dragan Korać, has achieved a significant scientific breakthrough, pushing the boundaries of engineering and information sciences through his latest research results.

His work, titled “A computer engineering approach to modeling safety and security boundaries: review, new model and comparison,” was published in Archives of Computational Methods in Engineering, one of the most prestigious journals in the field, with a high impact factor of 12.1.

The research addresses one of the most complex and long-standing challenges in modern science—the precise definition of boundaries between safety and security. This interdisciplinary issue has become increasingly important in the era of rapid development of artificial intelligence and the growing integration of digital and real-world systems.

Co-authors of the study include Dimitrije Čvokić from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Banja Luka, and Dejan Simić from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
