The Basic Court in Banja Luka confirmed that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC) requested information regarding activities related to removing Milorad Dodik, as president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, from the register of political organizations.
“The HJPC addressed the Basic Court in Banja Luka regarding the delivery of information on undertaken activities, to which the Court will provide a response within the prescribed deadline,” the court said in its reply.
Earlier, reports stated that the HJPC requested information from the Basic Court in Banja Luka regarding the procedure for removing Dodik as party president from the register.
Legal experts have described the letter from the HJPC as an unprecedented form of pressure on the court and judges.
