On Saturday, Zvornik will become the regional capital of judo.
The Youth Judo Club OJK Sokolovi is organizing, for the eighth consecutive year, one of the most important club tournaments in the region, which will gather future champions of this Olympic sport at the Recreational and Sports Center.
A spectacle bringing the region together
This year’s tournament is expected to host more than 600 competitors from over 60 clubs. Judokas from six countries will compete on the tatami — Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Hungary.
Protocol and opening ceremony
The official opening of the tournament is scheduled for 10 a.m., and the competition will be formally opened by Bojan Ivanović, Mayor of Zvornik, and Ognjen Pavlović, President of the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Competition system and awards
The matches will take place in six age categories, covering competitors from the youngest beginners to cadets. In addition to sporting prestige, the organizers have prepared a rich prize fund — medals for the best individuals in all weight and age categories, trophies for the most successful clubs by age group, and large trophies for the three best clubs in the overall tournament standings.
“This tournament is not just a competition, but also a symbol of sporting friendship and proof that Zvornik is a city of sport. We are proud to host more than 60 teams and that the quality of our organization continues to justify the trust of the judo federation and our international guests,” the club stated.
The competition will take place at the Recreational and Sports Center in Zvornik, and entry is free for all sports fans.
