U.S. General and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn stated that he, like SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, had experienced what he described as the misuse of the judiciary for political purposes.
Speaking at a lecture held at the headquarters of the Government of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, Flynn said he had personally faced a situation in which “the system of government attacks and persecutes you,” drawing parallels with the case of U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Everyone saw what happened during his last term,” Flynn added.
He emphasized that he had been attacked in various ways—though not in the same manner as Trump or Dodik—and argued that the alleged politicization of the judiciary is something people should collectively resist.
Flynn also said it was significant that, in what he described as a difficult and challenging global moment, the American people had once again elected Trump as president, citing global security threats and what he called the dangers of radical Islam.
“I have extensive knowledge, having worked for 25 years in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. I worked on countering radical Islam. I have written eight books. The first one is titled Field of Fight. It was a bestseller. The term comes from the Iliad. Radical Islamists have many collaborators in the United States. These are the enemies we face and deal with. It is a dangerous phenomenon,” Flynn said.
Regarding governance models, Flynn stated that frameworks such as the Dayton Peace Agreement are currently being reassessed in terms of sustainability, arguing that in many cases they are proving not to be viable.
