Dodik: “Nothing will be the same for Republika Srpska anymore”

“Nothing will be the same for Republika Srpska anymore,” said SNSD leader Milorad Dodik upon his return from an official visit to Israel, during which the delegation of Republika Srpska met with the president and prime minister of that country, the speaker of the Knesset, and state ministers. Many things were agreed, he said, which will become visible in the period ahead.

Dodik called on all political actors in Republika Srpska to unite, to oppose political Sarajevo and the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announced the reaffirmation of the right to self-determination.

The visit to Israel was one of the most important visits ever undertaken by officials of Republika Srpska.

Not only because the delegation was received at the highest state level, but also because full support and understanding were shown regarding the position of Republika Srpska, Dodik said.

During numerous meetings with the most important Israeli officials, several very important agreements were reached which, he said, he still cannot disclose.

“They are exclusively related to the issue of status. In Israel as well, they consider the violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement unacceptable, that it no longer exists, that this document absolutely no longer deserves any attention, and that the new repositioning of Republika Srpska must be carried out through additional understanding of our position at important places in the world,” said Milorad Dodik.

For that reason, during the visit, the right to self-determination was reaffirmed, Dodik said, adding that Republika Srpska, alongside its traditional partners Serbia, Russia, and Hungary, as well as the new US administration, has gained another important geopolitical ally.

“We have the right to self-determination. We have friends. We have enemies. That is political Sarajevo and the Western liberal elites. We must break with certain processes, we must stop all processes that lead toward the centralization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because we do not want that. We want self-determination,” Dodik said.

He warned that the threat to Republika Srpska and its survival is growing and is comparable to that of 1991.

It is now visible through court verdicts, the seizure of Serb property in the Federation, and constant pressure on businesses from Republika Srpska, Dodik said, adding that he is astonished that the opposition does not recognize this.

He called on everyone in Republika Srpska to unite and resist such attempts.

“I call on the people in Republika Srpska, both government and opposition, to gather together and to exit the Dayton Peace Agreement and return to the state of the republic as it existed before the agreement, because we lost everything through that agreement – the army, border police, indirect taxes, they imposed a prosecutor’s office and courts, there is nothing they did not do. This must be returned if you want to persuade us to abandon, at least for the moment, the path toward self-determination,” Dodik emphasized.

One of the first steps, Dodik said, will be to return the right to organize elections to the sovereignty of Republika Srpska, and he announced the continuation of intensive diplomatic activities in the coming days.

He will meet tomorrow with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Budapest, and at the beginning of next week he will travel to the United States where, at the invitation of several congressmen, he will attend the traditional National Prayer Breakfast together with the Serb member of the Presidency, Željka Cvijanović.

An official visit to Serbia is also being prepared, as well as the joint marking of Sretenje – Serbia’s Statehood Day, during which the Oncology Center in Banja Luka will be opened.
