Exhibition for the heroes of “Iskra”

Exhibition for the heroes of “Iskra”

With the exhibition “Artists of Banja Luka 2026,” which will be organized for the fourth time on March 12 this year, artists and visitors alike will once again show their humanity by purchasing exhibited works and helping the heroes of the association “Iskra” from Banja Luka, who are battling malignant diseases.

Nikola Đudurović, the conceptual creator and organizer of the exhibition, told Nezavisne novine that helping children who are just beginning their lives while already fighting for them is their greatest motivation and the most important pillar of this humanitarian story.

“This is the fourth exhibition so far, representing the culmination of the organizers’ work to date and bringing the most mature content yet — both organizationally and artistically,” he said. He added that applications for artists who wish to exhibit their works are open until February 28, and all interested participants can apply via the application form available on the Instagram profile @izlozba_ubl and on the website viartisa.org.

According to him, visitors will be able to enjoy a rich interactive and multimedia program.

“Live painting performances, ambient music, and a joint painting on canvas are planned, in the creation of which both visitors and participants can take part. In addition, within the UBL26 Shop, visitors will be able to purchase souvenirs and keepsakes from the exhibition. The most important segment of the exhibition is the sale of artworks, through which visitors directly contribute to the humanitarian goal,” he explained, adding that the exhibition is inclusive and open to all interested creatives — both academically trained artists and those who practice art as a hobby.

“A special segment is dedicated to the youngest artists, up to the age of 15. Interested participants can choose between four categories: graphic design and illustration, graphics and drawing, painting and sculpture, and photography,” he told Nezavisne novine.

As he noted, more than 6,000 KM has been collected so far through the “Artists of Banja Luka” exhibition for various humanitarian causes.

In organizing the exhibition together with Nikola is Ivan Letić, vice president of the citizens’ association “Viartis” Banja Luka, who emphasized that the idea to launch the “Artists of Banja Luka” exhibition arose from the need to place art in the service of the community and humanity.

“Through previous editions, it has been shown that this concept has a strong impact and that both artists and the public recognize the importance of connecting creative expression with concrete help for those who need it most,” he said.

For him, as he noted, this exhibition means a great deal.

“Year after year, we see how the project grows and gains increasing support from the public, institutions, and partners, which gives us additional encouragement to continue developing this humanitarian story,” Ivan told Nezavisne novine.

The art exhibition “Artists of Banja Luka 2026” is organized by the citizens’ association “Viartis” from Banja Luka, in cooperation with the higher education institution Banja Luka College.
