This year, on February 6, Vienna’s Hofburg Palace will be a place where the Serb language will be spoken, Serb songs will be heard, and guests will enjoy both the steps of the waltz and the Serb quadrille, as the occasion marks the 27th Saint Sava Ball.
The Serb Center, as the organizer, has ensured that the program appeals to all tastes and lives up to the reputation of being the most prestigious gathering of the Serb community.
Each year, an increasing number of young people attend the Saint Sava Ball, while Austrians and members of other nations also look forward to the event, known among Viennese as the “Sava Ball.”
Vienna is a city renowned for its ball season, which traditionally runs from November to February and dates back centuries.
The Saint Sava Ball and its guests have secured their place in this traditional ballroom season, thereby bringing together the cultures of the region from which they originate and the country in which they live. Like all balls held in Vienna, the Saint Sava Ball also follows a formal dress code.
Last year, the Saint Sava Ball brought together more than 2,500 guests, including numerous prominent figures from diplomacy, the arts, and public life, in an atmosphere that combined glamour, tradition, and humanitarian spirit. Everyone is welcome at this event.
Because of its history and humanitarian character, the Saint Sava Ball holds great significance for Serbs around the world, while also serving as an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and the promotion of the achievements of Serb people.
