The display of a banner bearing the notorious Ustasha salute “Za dom spremni” at a football match, and the absence of any condemnation of this shameful act, show that Croatia has not escaped the vortex of hatred toward Serbs, said SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
Dodik stressed that the glorification of Ustashism as a product of Nazi ideology deserves unequivocal condemnation, and that the silence of Croatian officials amounts to complicity.
“From that chant, under which hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, Roma, and others were killed, the civilized world recoils. Those who promote it have written themselves out of civilization and inscribed themselves into barbarism,” Dodik wrote on the social network X.
At Zagreb’s Maksimir Stadium, the Bad Blue Boys supporters’ group recently displayed a banner bearing the Ustasha salute “Za dom spremni.”
