International Film Festival “Prvi kadar” opens in Zvornik and East Sarajevo under the motto “Censorship”

The five-day International Film Festival “Prvi kadar” (First Frame) has opened in Zvornik and East Sarajevo under the motto “Censorship.”

The festival in Zvornik was inaugurated with the screening of Vuk Ršumović’s new film “Among the Gods”, while the East Sarajevo edition, beginning on November 5, will open with the feature-length documentary “Children of Bradina” by Stevan Salatić.

Prvi kadar in Zvornik began with the Children’s Program, followed by screenings from the competitive selections of the ninth International Film Festival in the afternoon. A total of 50 films from 18 countries will be presented across seven competition categories.

In addition to the support of the host cities, the event has received significant backing from the Audiovisual Center of Republika Srpska.

The festival also includes two film workshops for high school students — the documentary film workshop “Behind the Frame” and the film criticism workshop “The Art of Watching.”

This year’s festival laureate is director Slobodan Šijan. On November 5, he will present his new book “In the Mirror of Criticism.” All programs and screenings are free of charge.
