High Representative Christian Schmidt knows he’s finished and leaving Bosnia, said Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik in an interview with ATV.
Speaking about the special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS), Dodik stated that Republika Srpska continues to reject Schmidt’s authority and that the session’s purpose was to further remove him from the political scene.
“At one point, to strengthen our position, it was necessary to adopt certain measures — and we did. But we faced obstruction in their implementation, as some individuals applying those laws could be exposed to judicial liability. Fine, that bothers them, but we said this was about repositioning our stance. It doesn’t mean we think less about the Constitutional Court — it still doesn’t have two judges from Republika Srpska. We will continue not to apply its decisions and will keep rejecting Schmidt,” Dodik explained.
He emphasized that this step was more about politically eliminating Schmidt than escalating the confrontation.
“This move contributes more to removing Schmidt than to intensifying the fight against him. I believe he knows he’s finished and that he’s leaving Bosnia,” Dodik concluded.
